What do I complain about the Most?
People often hear your words, but don’t listen.
What exactly is the point of a conversation, if one of the people aren’t listening. If you told someone, you disagree, and provided reasons why, then they just responded, they aren’t listening.
People often hear another person talking, while they are waiting to get their turn to speak, but shut off and don’t listen.
Context is everything. If I told you you were an jerk, how would you feel?
If I told you, you were a jerk for how you did something, and the way it affected me, then how would you feel?
Words do hurt, but if a person just heard the word, you’re a jerk, without listening to why they felt they were a jerk, then the word itself loses it’s intended meaning.
While it does matter to listen, it’s not the be all end all. While it does frustrate me, when I realize the other person is no longer listening, then I try to remind them, they’re responding to something with actually giving the context thought.
Communication is key, and sort of a lost art. I honestly can hear someone tell me anything, especially about myself, if they provide feedback that gets at the root of an issue, and I will always listen.
Just because people respond back doesn’t mean they disagree, everyone has their own perspective and opinion.
Much like assholes, everyones got one, and they often stink..
Enjoy the weekend!
