I would say this blog, but I think the 7 Habits, Atomic Habits and The Subtle Art. I pick those solely on the fact that being self reliant and building through personal habits and using repetitive behavior is something I just get, but also it landed me on working on this blog.
I’ve listened to The Subtle art an Atomic Habits multiple times now, and it’s like having a key to a door that gives you a short cut. I find enjoyment in performing tasks over and over and over knowing that I’m only making myself better at it, including my writing.
When you begin to understand the pattern that leads to positive or negative habits, it makes it easier to create or break. While I had already felt resilient, I felt completely unstoppable.
Eventually, after listening to both, but also realizing that I often would talk with friends and family about how to hack your want and to make it a do, I felt I wanted to possibly help others not within my immediate circle.
Without really knowing it until I got near the end of The Subtle art, this has become my “death project.” For the longest time I believe I have been searching for it, but what I didn’t understand was that it was always there.
It was curated by my big brother Cell, perpetuated by my close friends and family, and solidified by my own drive to be a better son, dad, grandson, husband and friend.
The old adage, if I could only help one person, I have been successful, absolutely applies, but I hope to help more. The fuel is to leave a lasting impression on those who find similarities, respect, and appreciation in what I hope to provide.
In closing, I was last excited about reading, understanding and researching those 3 books.
What Next?
If you asked me what next I may be excited for, my new found death project, my new drive to be even better than my old drive, my fuel to become something no one ever had dreamt for me, and the future is bright.
