I could write about this probably all day, and for multiple categories. Let’s just get into it though.
Category: Interpersonal
Obviously, there are obvious things that can make you a worse person, things that are against the law, but here are a few things I really dislike.
- Hypocrite: What could be worse than someone saying you shouldn’t do something, and then them justifying it for their cause?
- Condescending: I, and I learned, my daughter really dislike when we hear someone talk down to us, or others we care about. I really don’t see how this makes people feel better about themselves.
- Accountability: I don’t care when mistakes are made, they’re expected, I only care when they are repeated, it means you didn’t take accountability for the previous mistake
- Who cares who, what, why and how it happened, just be accountable, and don’t make the same mistakes over
- Making excuses for everything that goes wrong, means you will never accept the reality of what actually is going wrong.
Category: Work
- “Just do your Job”: People who just show up, do what is asked of them they will get far. Also, if they got along with other people. Hard workers, smart or not, are always going to get far.
- Active Listening: At all levels. This is just a issue that seems to be across the board for all levels. People hear you talk, but don’t actually listen to what you’re saying because they are waiting to respond.
- Accountability: There’s that word again. Accept your mistake, learn from it, move on. Don’t make the same mistake twice, it shows you learning
Category: Driving
- Tailgating(me): I will purposely annoy you. I drive a rocket, I will slow down, let you think you’re gonna pass me, then speed up to only block you. Drive around the me, I’m ok with this, but don’t expect me to drive faster because you’re on my bumper, I will make your day that much more bothersome.
- Cutting in, slowing down: People who speed up to cut in, then slow down, just let me go tf by, like why bruh?
- Speeding in Traffic: I also will annoy these people by blocking them. Their hope is to get just 1 car ahead. When I want to drive faster, but realize I may only get 1 or 2 cars ahead, I just wait until I see a pathway.
Category: Personal
- Not Trying: I hate not trying, I’d rather fail 1 million times then to never try once. I’ve done this my whole life, I never stop trying to learn, or even try something I’m interested in. True failure is not trying.
- People telling me what to do: I prefer being asked. Of course when you’re in a work environment, your told, and sometime voluntold. Ask me, and lets work together to get something done, but I will never say no if asked, and it’s something I think I can help you with.
- Following status Quo: I am a contrarian by birth. I always go left when everyone goes right, which doesn’t always pan out. I wouldn’t enjoy my life as much had I done everything everyone expects me to do. It’s my life, I rather ruin it myself, then to let someone else ruin it for me. I will always lead, even when I know it’s something I probably shouldn’t be doing.
Follow your own heart. Listen to yourself. Take advice, but do research. Understand who you are and your limits. Focus on being the best version of you that you can be. If people can’t match your energy, find the ones that do or can, or that help you elevate it. Your environment is what shapes you. YOLO.
