Reflection, after 20 Subs

20 Subs — And Hopefully Many More

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who takes the time to read this. Like many of you, I stepped back over the holiday — mentally and physically — to be with family, breathe, reset, and just be.

And during that reset, I realized something important:
20 subscribers is more meaningful to me than I ever expected.

Twenty people stopped what they were doing, read my words, and said, “Yeah, I want more of this.”
For that, I’m grateful.

To everyone who has read my blog, subscribed, or shared a post — thank you.
I created The Blueprint Mindset for people who grew up like me… people who felt stuck in environments designed to break them, or trapped mentally in a place that felt impossible to escape.

This space was built for anyone who ever wondered:
“Is there more to life for someone like me?”

Because there is.
I’m living proof of it.

Why I Started This Blog

After reading Atomic Habits and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*, something clicked. Those books helped me grow — but I also knew that their voices weren’t meant to represent everyone’s experience.

They’re incredible works, no question. But when you hear self-help from someone who looks like you, grew up like you, or faced the same realities you did?
It hits completely different.

I wanted to be that voice for someone.
Especially young Black men who feel like the world wasn’t built with them in mind.
Especially people who never had someone to show them another way.
Especially those carrying trauma they haven’t even named yet.

What I Hope This Blog Gives You

I hope these posts remind you that:

  • You’re not alone.
  • Your story matters.
  • You’re allowed to grow past your circumstances.
  • You can rewrite the blueprint you were handed.
  • You can heal, even if the world never apologized.
  • You can lead, even if nobody led you.

I want to give people the voice I needed growing up — honest, flawed, real, and rooted in lived experience.

What You Can Expect Going Forward

This is just the beginning.
Here’s what’s coming next:

1. More personal stories

Not for sympathy — but for connection and clarity.

2. More mindset and motivation

Not the fluffy kind… the real kind that comes from surviving things you weren’t supposed to survive.

3. Lessons from running, discipline, and daily habits

Because these are the tools that rebuilt my mindset from the ground up.

4. Deeper reflections on identity, trauma, healing, and growth

The parts most people hide — the parts that create real transformation.

5. A gradual journey toward my book

One post at a time, I’m building toward a self-help memoir hybrid that blends story with survival, and guidance with truth.

It will reflect on the relationships that helped me grow, the 2 close friends who became brothers, and the lessons I took from all positive and negative that helped me discover the inner strength we all have.

Thank You for Being Part of This

Whether you’ve been here from the first post or just joined, thank you for walking through this with me.
If 20 people can feel something from my words, maybe 200 can. Maybe 2,000.
But even if it stays small, I’m proud of what this is becoming, and I have only hoped to just help 1. With your help, paying it forward, I wish to help many more.

This blog is more than writing for me —
it’s healing, it’s purpose, and it’s proof that beginnings matter as much as endings.

Here’s to growth — yours and mine.
And here’s to the many more people I hope these words reach.
