Ability To Visualize Context

Daily writing prompt
What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

Secret Ability I Possess

I didn’t realize the extent of my abilities, until a recent conversation with co-workers.

Often, I do not look people in the eyes, or face as they speak, one of my boys, has stated the same. I am visualizing what you are saying.

For further context, when I say the word apple for instance, red, green, or even a blue one, I can see this floating in my minds eye in front of me.

Visualizing Success

I created a post in the past, which I labeled, The Mental Montage. It was to explain how you dream, or visualize yourself doing something you like.

When you can see it in your minds eye, it’s only actions away from being realized.

Visualizing Context

I like having multiple perspectives. I enjoy seeing ideas from multiple angles, it clarifies my vision.

A story is just a story, until you have context. Someone sitting on a bus passed out with their kids running around and disturbing everyone, is just that. Until, when someone asks the parent to stop them from disturbing others and you find out, their mother just recently passed.

I try to place myself outside of the conversation visually, and picture it in motion. I try to guess where it will go, and what the person could say next, and I am often correct.

With this ability though, most importatntly, I want to understand everyone.

My hope is to do more than hear their opinion, I would like to see it, and feel it.

I will say, sometimes it makes watching movies boring.

I would say, for people who lack this ability, it’s worth it to maybe draw a picture, make a vision board. Have a goal in mind, how could you know where to throw a ball if you don’t have a target.
