We developed our own language, much like everyone else. We used numbers like letters. It kept us connected in a mostly unconnected world.

It made it easy to have a significant other, and not need to constantly be on the phone with them.

It also gave us good reasons to have more space between us and our parents. For good or for worse.

I have thought about purchasing another one and just having it to have it.

They Are Still In Use

I believe medical professionals still use them. I wouldn’t mind having 1 just for simple mundane messages, or a simple text without needing to read a text.

It was so fun to go from 143, to using numbers upside down or right-side up to spell out words and joke around with your friends.

07734, one of the most used messages I feel like during that time, but also, since I was a teenager, we definitely typed 58008(boobs) more than we probably should have.

I may pick one up just for family use and shits and giggles, but it was a fun time to have new tech, but also working with friends to figure out ways to communicate in a way we only understood.
