For Harmony, what would I let go?

Harmony

Anything, but my family and friends. Unless, I knew giving up those things could provide harmony. I feel simplistic in my current life goals, but happiness is number one. I have even told my daughter, if I ever felt her or my wife, her mom were the cause of me no longer having happiness, I would leave.

I mostly told her this in an attempt for me to help her understand the importance I would like her to place on her happiness. I have found that I don’t understand the point of doing anything, if it only helps me live, but doesn’t provide happiness.

I understand it’s easier said then done, but could anyone agree with me that there are people in this world that hardly make any money, or none at all, that are living much happier lives then you or me, no matter how successful we are in our lives?

So much of American life feels like a rat race. Just finding basic happiness in this huge blue marble full of complicated life, with complicated people all trying to live life to the best of their ability, seems as if it’s the right direction on a compass. It may be naive, but I haven’t been happier in my life then I have been in the last 10 years.
